You’ve seen something like this? There’s something wrong with Macromedia’s “Quiz Maker” modules lol… They probably didn’t put so much time into it :D

Any Piece of Knowledge

Any piece of knowledge
I acquire today has a value at
this moment exactly proportional
to my skill to deal with it.
Tomorrow, when I know more,
I recall that piece of knowledge
and
use it better.
–Mark Van Doren

The bachelor’s degree
proves that you
can be trained;
the master’s degree
indicates some expertise
in your field, and the Ph.D.
indicates your
ability to become an
expert in any field.

Who wants a Ph.D. ???

For the most part, only people who like a subject can take being immersed in it for six years or more. So Ph.D.s tend to be “into” what they are doing. If a big house, expensive cars and luxurious vacations are important to you, then the Ph.D. is probably not the degree for you. With few exceptions, people do not grow wealthy by using their Ph.D. training. The overwhelming majority of Ph.D.s just make a living. If your American dream is one of working hard for intellectual fulfillment rather than financial success, you probably have what it takes to get a Ph.D.

Story of a Guy and Girl

A girl asked a guy if he thought she was pretty,
He said…no.

She asked him if he would want to be with her forever…and he said no.

She then asked him if she were to leave would he cry, and once again he replied with a no.

She had heard enough. As she walked away, tears streaming down her face the boy grabbed her arm and said…

You’re not pretty you’re beautiful.

I don’t want to be with you forever, I NEED to be with you forever.

And I wouldn’t cry if you walked away…I’d die…

Money

It can buy a House
But not a Home

It can buy a Bed
But not Sleep

It can buy a Clock
But not Time

It can buy you a Book
But not Knowledge

It can buy you a Position
But not Respect

It can buy you Medicine
But not Health

It can buy you Blood
But not Life

So you see money isn’t everything.
And it often causes pain and suffering.
I tell you this because I am your Friend,
and as your Friend I want to
take away your pain and suffering!

So send me all your money and I will suffer for you! Cash only please.

JUST IF YOUR ASKING

If you’re askin if I need you,
the answer is forever!

If you’re askin if I’ll leave you,
the answer is never!

If your askin what I value,
the answer is You!

If you’re askin if I love you,
that answer is I DO!

Advices in applying into Ph.D. program

Although this document is specifically written for Computer Science students, but trust me, you will get inspired by reading this document. This document is written by Professor Mor Harchol-Balter, is intended for people applying to Ph.D. programs in computer science or related areas.

Topics Covered:
Do I really want a Ph.D.? What does a Ph.D. entail?
The Application Process
Fellowship Information
Choosing the right Ph.D.program for you
Current 2002 Rankings of CS Ph.D.programs in the U.S.

Here’s one good point to keep in mind A GPA of 4.0 alone with no research experience will not get you into any top CS program.”

How’s your home workspace?

Below is my most comfortable workspace :) do you have the one that’s similar? Here’s the place where I do my “Coding” life… But wait, I don’t always only code here!!! I also eat, rest, and also have fun lol… I think this will be good for the next couple of years until I got double monitor or 24″…??? (when I got enough money of course!!!)

Here’s the list of what you see right now:
1. 19″ LCD Monitor
2. My lovely… 15″ Laptop

4. Logitech wireless keyboard

Can’t see the wireless mouse huh? I got small little mouse for my keyboard.
Lights are turned off because I want to make a cool shot :D

First Step Toward Computer Graphics

I joined this Open Source projects along with 3 other developers to create a game called Maro. The idea of the game is that a player will have cubes and he or she is within a box, and had to arrange the cube that’s been thrown so that the cube that he or she is in is not getting filled up. So it’s kind of like a Tetris but the 3D version of it and more cooler stuff!! :D I’m excited about this project and hopefully we can get it done by the end of my summer break. I’ll mostly dedicate my time for this project and the other one, hoping that I will get a lot of valuable development experiences along with other developers. We’re using Ring and Java 3D technologies to implement the game so that it can run in many platforms.

My first task is to create the introductory menu for the game. Since I’m really new at 3D game programming, I hope that at least this can be a good start for me to work forward :)
