Hello Om Hippo!

Null Paycheck Exception

I was excited when I was about to pick up my pay check for last month. As usual, I came to the office where everybody pick up our pay checks, and I have been told that I received two pay checks this month for some reason. I was becoming more excited and open them right away, here’s the interesting thing that I found out about one of the pay checks:

Null Paycheck Exception

I’m planning to frame it! :D

The Hymn of Promise

In the bulb there is a flower,
In the seed, an apple tree,
In cocoon, a hidden promise
Butterfies will soon be free
In the cold and snow of winter
There is spring that waits to be
Unrevealed until its season,
Something God alone can see

There’s a song in every silence,
Seeking word and melody
There’s a dawn in every darkness
bringing hope to you and me,
From the past will come the future
What it holds a mystery,
Unrevealed until its season,
Something God alone can see

In our end is our beginning,
In our own time, infinity;
In our doubt, there is believing
In our death a resurrection
At the last, a victory,
Unrevealed until its season,
Something God alone can see.

Bill Gates’ Last Day at Microsoft

Who doesn’t know Bill Gates? To those who doesn’t know, Bill Gates will no longer be at Microsoft. He will still be the Chairman of Microsoft, but will be working full time at the Global Health project at the foundation that he and his wife established, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Above is the hillarious video that I found about his last day at Microsoft.

The Parables of the Weeds - Matthew 13

The Parable of the Weeds

24Jesus told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field. 25But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away. 26When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared. 27“The owner’s servants came to him and said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?’

28” ‘An enemy did this,’ he replied.
”The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’

29” ‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you are pulling the weeds, you may root up the wheat with them. 30Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’ ”

The Parable of the Weeds Explained

36Then he left the crowd and went into the house. His disciples came to him and said, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the field.”

37He answered, “The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man. 38The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one, 39and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.

40“As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age. 41The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. 42They will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 43Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.

Bible Verse of the Day - 1 Corinthians 13

Love

1If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. - 1 Corinthians 13

What is the most important part of our body?

My mom always asked me:”What is the most important part of our body?”.

When I was a child, I thought sound is the most important so the ear the most important part. My mom shaked her head: “No, it is not. There are many deaf people in this world. But just think about this question, I will ask you later, son.”

Several years later, I thought that images the most important, so the eyes are the important part. But my mom just look at me dearly and said:” You have learnt a lot of new things. But that’s not the answer because there are many blind people in this world.”

That have been many times and everytimes was the same, my mom always answered me:” No, it’s wrong. But you have improved a lot, son.”

Then last year, my grandma passed away. Everyone cried because of missing him. My dad cried, this is the second time i saw my dad cried. When it were my mom and i turn to come near to my grandma to said farewell, my mom look at me and whispered:” Now, do you know the answer, son?”. I was shocked when my mom bring that question in that very situation. I always thought that question was just a game between my mom and me. Look at the shocking on my face, my mom said:” Son, the most important part of your body is your shoulder.” I asked:” Is it because it support my head, mom?”. Mom shaked her head:”No it is not, because it is the place when your relatively can lie on when they want to cry. Everyone needs a shoulder to lie in their life. I just hope that you will have many friends and receive plenty of love so when you cried you will have a shoulder to lie your head on.”

From that day on, I understood the most important of human body is not part of “selfishness” but part of understand and feel sorry for people’s pain.

Nail Holes

There’s a boy with a bad attitude, he always get angry easily. One day, his dad gives him a bag of nails and said:” Everytime you get angry with anyone, run to the wood fence behind our house and smash one nail on it.”

The first day, he had smashed about 37 nails on the fence. But after a few weeks, he learned to keep himself down everytime he got angry and the amount of nails he smashed on the fence is reducing. He feel that keep himself down better than go and smash a nail to the fence.

Then one day, that boy doesn’t angry in all day. He comes to his dad and his dad said:” Good, now if after everyday that you are not angry in a whole day, then go pull out on nail of the fence.”

Days passed by, there’s come a day when the boy come to his dad and proudly said that there no more nail on the fence. His dad led him to the fence and whisper:

“You did a good job, but can you see the hole that your nails left on the fence. The fence doesn’t look the same as it used to be. If you said something when you are angry, all of those words will look like these holes in this fence, they left pains that hard to heal in people heart. No matter how much you say sorry, that pain still there forever. You have to remember: metal pain will more painful than physic pain. People and friends around us are special rock. They make you laugh and help you in everything. They listen to your complaination when you got trouble, cheer you up and always ready to open their heart for you, remeber my words, son.”
