Hooray! It’s finally delivered!
I just got a new customized Sony Vaio laptop (VGN-FZ4000) to celebrate and do myself a favor from getting internship offers for summer 2008, in which I decided to stick with the Google Summer of Code 2008.
I didn’t expect it to come that fast, because I customized the laptop, such that Sony has to built the laptop specifically to follow my specification:
Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 (2.5 GHZ) with 6MB Cache
WLAN (802.11a/b/g/n) with integrated Bluetooth® technology
NVIDIA® GeForce® 8400M GT
LCD 15.4″ WXGA (XBRITE-HiColorâ„¢) with integrated video camera
DVD±R DL / DVD±RW / DVD-RAM Drive
200GB SATA Hard Disk Drive [7200 rpm]
4 GB DDR-SDRAM (DDR2-667, 2 GBx2)
Although sometimes I feel that the 7200 RPM hard drive is a little loud, but the trade off still pays off with the overall performance that I have. Windows Vista Home Premium comes pre-installed with the laptop, in which I only use for Yahoo! Voice Messaging that is currently not supported by Pidgin, but I’m planning to dual-boot this laptop with Fedora Core 9 at the time of its release! ![]()
