I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
~ Jeremiah 29:11 ~

Hello, my name is Grady Laksmono. I’m an international undergraduate student from Indonesia who’s pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at California State University, Los Angeles. I’m a Web Programmer for College of Engineering, Computer Science, and Technology at California State University, Los Angeles.

When I was in Indonesia, I live at the east side of the second largest city in Indonesia, Surabaya. During my study in the United States, I live alone in the little apartment in Alhambra, California.

I have hobbies that I’m passionate about, including photography, reading, volunteering, and web consulting. I have Canon Digital Rebel XTi ,that I use for photography. I like to take pictures of close-up macro face expression, shadow, abstract, and nature. I enjoyed reading many things, including quotes, poems, short stories, Bible, news, etc. I enjoy meaningful short stories because they give a lot of insights that sometimes I don’t realize.

I volunteered in the couple of places, such as becoming a mathematics and physics tutor at Alhambra High School, a helper for librarian to organize books at the Hacienda Heights public library, a Web Developer for Cal State L.A. Computer Science Department, and a Fedora Ambassador for Fedora Project. As a Fedora Ambassador I organized various event not only to promote Fedora, but also open source software in general to the public. One of the event that I organized is the Los Angeles Fedora 9 Release Party. I started to get involved with the open source recently with the addition of acceptance to the Google Summer of Code 2008 with Moodle. On campus, I’m involved with the Cal State L.A. Student Chapter of Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) as the President.

I started to become a web consultant and developer in my high school years. I started by creating a website for a small multi player online game team, and then I continued by volunteering for an Indonesian internet radio station. In April 2006, my home room teacher recommended me to the principal to develop a website for the school, San Gabriel Academy. From there, I started to built interests in the World Wide Web. I graduated from San Gabriel Academy in June 2006.

I began my undergraduate study in September 2006. The areas in Computer Science that I’m interested involves Data Minings, Web and Information Systems, Machine Learning, and Software Engineering. I took the graduate level course of Web Programming (CS 520) in Spring 2008 with the recommendation of Dr. Raj Pamula and the supervision of Dr. Chengyu Sun.
